On this old viol, too, fingers are dancing

This gorgeous Bar Stool is designed by British designer, David Irwin for Another Country as part of their Hardy Collection. The Hardy Collections pays tribute to the beauty of furniture from the poem, Old Furniture, by Dorset-born poet, Thomas Hardy.

David's pieces for the collection are also inspired by 19th century British furniture design such as the Captain’s Chair and Smokers Bow, two chair that are epitome of new design in that era. Both of these chairs are defined by their lower back design which is shown here with this stunning Bar Stool, making it comfortable seating at a drinks bar or breakfast bar in the home.

The Hardy Bar Stool is Solid Certified Oiled Ash or Oak and proudly made in Britain.

  • Do not use spirits, bleaches or any other chemical cleaners to clean the timber. Please ensure that direct contact with hot objects is avoided by using tablemats. Avoid spillages and do not use any corrosive products such as bleach anywhere near the timber. Any spillages should be wiped clean as quickly as possible. Once the immediate spillage is cleared, ensure that the whole surface is wiped clean.
For long-term general maintenance, periodic reapplication of wax is required. Ideally, the furniture should be waxed once every six months to a year. You will need to use a clear hard wax. We recommend getting professionally done if you are unsure.
