The elegant stand of the Olivier floor lamp is made with cast composite with a decorative bronzed finish. The shade is in ‘Dove’ colour satin. The braided silk flex is in platinum (silver) with a black foot switch and the Olivier lamp is supplied with a ‘Champagne’ colour baffle.

All wirework in Porta Romana lamps is 4mm thick and powder coated. This extra rigidity helps prevent dinks during its lifetime and allows the shade to travel well. Porta Romana stitch the side seams, a feature that is now a hallmark of a Porta Romana shade.

The transparencies of the linings have been created purposefully to give the right glow when lit because every silk, satin or velvet requires a different thickness. A cost may incur to change specification for Europe and USA use.

UK orders under £80 incur a delivery charge of £7. Delivery is free in the UK for orders over £80. Delicate or non-standard pieces are marked as such and incur a delivery fee depending on your location in the UK and the size/weight of the piece. International orders do incur a shipping cost which is calculated on size, weight and location of delivery address. An invoice will be sent separately from as little as £15. We have loved Porta Romana’s work for a long time, and used their pieces in many interiors. The Porta Romana studio achieves wonderful specialist finishes on its products. We admire the ingenious original ideas in each year’s new collection and look forward with excitement to see the new products revealed.

This floor lamp has real personality. As well as the obvious Giacometti connection, there’s something of the Roman javelin about it. The soft, warm glow from the eye-shaped shade contrasts with the cool, knobbly shaft of the support, soothingly illuminating the evening’s proceedings.

Porta Romana is synonymous with beautiful design made to the highest of standards. Only when these criteria are met is the final piece branded with the Porta Romana Maker’s Mark, as proof of its heritage.
