Expertly made in Northern Ireland using traditional techniques by the talented artisans at William Clark & Sons.

This unique linen for decorative interiors is created using traditional manufacturing practices with a modern twist. Beetling involves linen fabric being impregnated with a starch mix and wound around a wooden beam. The beam of linen is then turned slowly and pounded with heavy wooden beetles. The fabric is pounded by beetling hammers for a total of 140 hours. This unique technique produces a flat surface with a high lustre making the linen beautifully fine. Behaving like raw silk, beetled linen takes on added character with moisture or water adding to the tonal markings on this fabric. Suitable for Roman Blinds, Curtains, Cushions and Lampshades.

This stunning linen is ideal for a range of interior soft furnishings, so much so that we have made our beautiful Dappled Beetle Cushions with it. Made in Northern Ireland, it is available in two colour ways, Dark Slate and Drab. Dark Slate has cooler, blue tones whilst Drab is a warming sandy colour. It is rare to see a linen have such a lustre to it, this is due to the unique manufacturing process which creates the beautiful water mark effect. Both are sophisticated and fitting for either contemporary or traditionally styled bedrooms, lounges or sitting rooms.
