Creatively designed in Scotland by Wendy Morrison.

Please note that this rug is made to order. The fauna details stand out subtly from the Wool base in sparkling Tencel, creating a delicate lustrous sheen.

The rug is made with 100% Wool and Tencel, hand-tufted with a high thread count by skilled artisans in India. Tencel is an environmentally friendly fibre made from sustainably sourced natural raw wood material. It is known for its strength, flexibility and gentleness to skin.

Wendy Morrison rugs are the only items we sell that are designed in Britain but made skilfully elsewhere. All of Wendy Morrison’s rugs carry the GoodWeave label. GoodWeave is a global, Not-for-profit organisation which operates an international certification programme, working to end illegal child labour in the rug industry and to offer educational opportunities to children in South Asia.

    Standard Delivery - is for items that are small/light in weight, delivery is £7 and should be with you in five to seven working days. If a piece is needed urgently don’t hesitate to get in touch as we may be able to fulfil your wishes using an express service at an extra charge.

    Specialist Delivery - is for items that are too large/heavy/fragile to be sent in a parcel. As soon as your order has been received our customer service team will be in contact thanking you for your order and providing an accurate lead time. A shipping invoice will then be emailed to you requiring payment prior to despatch. Be assured, AUTHOR have negotiated competitive shipping costs from reliable couriers.

  • The rug can be vacuum cleaned. Although stains may be removed gently with mild, soapy water, professional cleaning is recommended. Leave muddy paw prints to dry before vacuuming.

The Mandela Rug is a wonderfully versatile piece, with its neutral, calm base colour tone and delightful, vivid highlight colours.

It is a breathtakingly beautiful piece which really has to be seen (and touched) to be appreciated. The Tencel fibres highlights on the branches and butterflies shimmer in the light, standing out against the matt texture of the background. The asymmetrical design looks different when viewed from new angles, bringing out fresh details every time.

The Mandela rug makes a very serene and elegant backdrop and will sit happily with a range of different colours and other furnishings. We promise that as soon as you have taken delivery of this gorgeous rug, you will want to whip off your shoes and socks or stockings and try it barefoot.
