David Watson

Sexy Legs Console Table by David Watson for AUTHOR's collection of British-made handcrafted furniture

Regular price £4,800 Sale

From the workshop of David Watson and his team of cabinet makers in Port Glasgow.

Constructed from three types of timber: Maple, Fiddle-back Sycamore and Burr Walnut. The sycamore sourced for this piece is referred to as ‘fiddleback’ because it is also used in making musical instrument cases. The wood has a heavily rippled pattern which becomes beautifully pronounced after polishing. Burr Walnut is characterised by its swirling patterns, formed where the tree sprouted growths of roots and offshoots.

Why we love this product

Sassily bestockinged console table.

This is a beautifully proportioned, elegant piece of furniture, that has been made with careful attention to every tiny detail.

The contrast in the two types of wood used accentuates the feminine stocking-like feet and pointed-toe legs.

The shapely features of the table and its classic design make it a natural fit for a traditional or contemporary space. Perfect as a console table in the hall or under a painting in a sitting or dining room with equally as beautiful, cherished items on top.ÿ

The maker is an advocate of local design and industry, seeking to support not only the design businesses but also local suppliers. Despite the continuing upwards trend in timber prices and the temptation to buy from abroad, chiefly America, the maker still commendably sources the majority of his materials from Scotland.
