Designed and digitally printed in the UK by the talented team at Blackpop.

Collaborating with the Sir John Soane's Museum and directly working and reworking architects’ drawings, paintings and objects d'art, Blackpop has undoubtedly created its most opulent and dramatic collection to date. For Capriccio, Maxine at Blackpop took out segments from Canaletto's paintings of Venice and reassembling them for the background of this design.

This fabric is available in two options:

British Cotton Velvet Fabric
Digitally printed in the UK with friendly inks. Velvet: 88%, cotton: 12%, polyester. Upholstery-grade fabric: 45,000 rubs.

Sustainable Polyester Velvet
Suitable for domestic and commercial projects including upholstery and drapery. Fire Rated & made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles diverted from landfills

Why we love this product

Gorgeous hues of blue, green and orange.

We love that segments from paintings of Venice by Italian painter, Canaletto, in the Sir John Soane Museum feature in this design. You can faintly see the building motifs and city views. In the mid 18th century, Canaletto worked in England, painting many sights of London which many were sold as a collection to King George III.

'Capriccio' in the world of art and painting, means an architectural fantasy, placing together buildings, archaeological ruins and other architectural elements in fictional and often fantastical combinations which can clearly be seen in this beautiful, abstract design.
