Iona Crawford

Bluebell Forest Wallpaper by Iona Crawford for AUTHOR: home of British-made luxury homeware

Regular price £254 Sale

Beautifully designed by Iona Crawford in her Atelier in the West End of Glasgow.

Bluebell Forest is a gentle print based on a painting Iona created, drawing inspiration from the bright, weather-beaten, rust speckled doors erected by Iona's farmer father to protect his newborn lambs from the harsh Scottish elements.

Available in a vinyl or non-woven option. Vinyl wall coverings are typically used for commercial/contract interiors, typically areas where there will be more traffic. This suede vinyl is both wipeable and scrubbable and holds a 20+ year guarantee. Non-woven wallpapers are lighter weight. These carry either a pearl smooth or soft crackle finish. These papers are typically used for residential projects.

Both the vinyl and non-woven options are made in the UK.

Purchase a minimum of two rolls of wallpaper and we’ll waive the £30 cutting fee. If less than the minimum quantity is bought, a separate invoice will be sent which must be paid before the order is placed.

Why we love this product

Inspired by the silent and unpredictable transition into the beautiful Scottish Springtime.

Iona Crawford always finds the most wonderful places to draw inspiration from for her designs. Bluebell Forest is a design created from a painting Iona made after photographing and studying the bright, weather-beaten, rust speckled doors erected by her farmer father to protect his newborn lambs from the harsh Scottish elements. Entitled the Secret Door Collection, influence is drawn from rural countryside living, lofty barns and authentic, agricultural Scottish craftsmanship.

Bluebells, or 'harebells' as known in Scottish folklore, are a delightful symbol of humility and gratitude, timely as they emerge in Spring when we appreciate the warmer weather and longer daylight. This design with its gentle colour way and sheer elegance is ideal for minimalist styled spaces such as bathrooms, hallways and bedrooms. As this pattern has a milder colour tone, it would work not only as a feature wall but on all walls in a room.
