Wu is a minimal bench with maximum design impact, typical of the simple, functional nature of the maker's furniture. Stripped of unnecessary ornament and decoration this is the pure essence of what defines a bench, incorporating the barest minimum of timber required in the vertical and horizontal supports.
Namon Gaston's high-quality, honest design is underpinned by a deep understanding of the materials with which he works. His work is often inspired by the possibilities presented by the basic functional requirements of a piece of furniture and how designers approached these challenges in the past.
The Wu bench makes an excellent addition to a hallway, entrance or study, wherever occasional seating is required. The bench is compact in size, perfect accommodation for two small ones.
