Rebecca Walklett

Patinated Copper Box Square made in Britain by metalsmith Rebecca Walklett for AUTHOR Interiors

Regular price £270 Sale

Beautifully handcrafted by metalsmith, Rebecca Walklett, in her Cornwall based workshop.

The shape of these gorgeous boxes are press-formed into copper, cut and filed to fit each half. The hinge and clasp is made from silver. The patinas used produce a variety of colours ranging from earthy oranges and reds, brown, purple/black, green/black, verdigris and turquoise blue. The nature of patination means that each box has a unique colouring, within the range. Sometimes Rebecca puts a texture onto the copper before the patina stage, giving an extra dimension to the finish. Finally, the box is given either a lacquer or beeswax finish and the silver hinge and clasp are polished. Each box is lined with reclaimed leather that either contrasts or complements the patina colour. A leatherette option is available, if leather is problematic for ethical reasons, please get in touch to discuss.
