Printed in the UK by the talented team at Blackpop.

Blackpop have collaborated with the Sir John Soane's Museum to create this opulent design. Motifs have been dismantled and rejigged from Sir John Soane's and Robert Adam's architectural drawings as well as a sketch for the ceiling of the Queen's State Bed Chamber at Hampton Court Palace, 1715, by Sir James Thornhill.

The Hampton Gold Wallpaper is digitally printed in the UK with environmentally friendly inks (no formaldehyde) on coated, non-woven paper. Please get in touch if you would like a sample as a fee may incur.

Rich, golden opulence.

From afar this gorgeous wallpaper is a fun and abstract design but on closer inspection the architectural details from Sir John Soane and Robert Adam's drawings can be seen. The Neoclassical ceiling painting motifs of intertwining bodies, cherubs, horses and textiles layered on top of each other are inspired from a sketch by Sir James Thornhill in 1715 of the Queen's State Bed Chamber ceiling at Hampton Court Palace.

This layering of motifs evokes the way one might find in a historical home layers of paper and paint built up over time and waiting to be uncovered. Traces of different centuries and eras combine together to say something new.
