Time stood still inside the Milanese Patisserie

Here, we are recalled back to Fornasetti's archival work in the prime of mid-century interior. These luscious pomegranate trees frequented their time alongside the
wood panels inside many favoured Milanese patisseries, namely Dulciora. Meanwhile, guests would be welcomed by mischievous monkeys foraging for ripe fruit. Fornasetti has quintessentially composed a playground of lifelike etched flora and fauna with decadent, bold print. Venturing closer into the piece, deep ink grounds embellish the forbidden fruits of Magenta.

Piero Fornasetti was an Italian painter, sculptor, interior decorator and engraver born in 1913 who created whimsical and iconographic illustrations and designs influenced by Greek and Roman architecture that were adapted for fashion and interior accessories. Cole & Son have adapted his magical motifs from their archives to create this exquisite design. Frutto Proibito gloriously combines different archival Fornasetti motifs from the 1940s and 50s for this non-woven wallpaper. Mischievous monkeys sit amongst sprawling pomegranate tree branches in a Sage background with Magenta fruit.
