Wheel-thrown by Jo Davies in her East London studio.

The black or white Finch bowls are named in reference to finches of the Galapagos Islands, where the birds are numerous in variety but from the same species. These bowls are made to the same design but each is unique.

Wheel-thrown 24ct gilded porcelain. Finished with either a black, manganese glaze or a tactile, satin-matt stoneware white crackle glaze and then high-fired.

Depending on stocks at the studio, this can usually be delivered in 3-5 days. We do have some in stock at the moment, please get in touch to discuss colour.

Standard Delivery - is for items that are small/light in weight, delivery is £7 and should be with you in five to seven working days. If a piece is needed urgently don’t hesitate to get in touch as we may be able to fulfil your wishes using an express service at an extra charge.

Specialist Delivery - is for items that are too large/heavy/fragile to be sent in a parcel. TO TREASURE FOR EVER

Gold-leaf pieces should not be soaked. If cleaning becomes necessary, do this by hand using a very small amount of water and do not scrub or rub with anything other than your softest cloth.
Dust (if you must) lovingly with a dry cloth on the gilded area.
Do not clean in a dishwasher.

Why we love this product

Pick a pinch of pepper, or salt, from this tactile porcelain bowl.

Small and perfectly formed, the gilded finch bowl is made just that little bit more special by the gold leaf on the wide rim.

We were attracted to this maker's work, with her quirky, humorous take on the familiar, reinterpreting the functional and the everyday, and these little bowls are no exception. It is fun to consider what culinary items you might put in these bowls. Of course they are ideally suited to sea salt, pepper and spices but why not try something different - they could hold paper clips in an office space as seen in our Winston Collection.

Alternatively, if you don't want to put it to practical use, the finch bowl is a perfect decorative piece. It would work well on an occasional table alongside a lamp.
